Nene Valley MCC held their annual October Cup Trial at Duck End, Cranford on Sunday 20th October 2013. This was the Ninth and penultimate round of the club championship with 30 riders attending.
The Trial was set outs for 5 laps of 8 sections which, proved to be quite testing for riders in all classes with lots of water and mud making this a classic South Midlands Centre Trial.
The expert class was won by Cambs Trials Centre Sponsored rider Sam Gent riding his CTC Factory 300 Beta, he was the only rider in any class to go around for a clean score card, an amazing ride. Second place went to Steve Swanson dropping 22 marks. Steve Bird finished in third place dropping 28 marks.
The 50/50 class was won by Paul Haddingham who dropped 32 marks.
The Clubman class was won by Bob Gent who dropped only 7 marks; second place went to Paul Robinson who dropped 13 marks. Third place went to Darren Phypers who dropped 14 marks.
The novice class was won by Gary Preistley on his new CTC Ossa 300 who lost 43 marks; second place went to Graham Bishop who lost 87 marks.
The easy route saw Josh Davies riding his CTC 250 GasGas winning with 41 marks lost, he was followed in second place by Toby Mears who dropped 87 marks. Third place went to Ryan Brown who dropped 89 marks.
The Youth A Class was won by Joe Collins riding his CTC GasGas 125 who dropped 92 marks.
The Youth B Class was won by Ton Bishop who dropped 74 marks
